ICU Nurse – Medical & Neuro Critical Care

Location: Springfield, MA

Shift: 12-hour nights (7 p.m.–7:30 a.m.), 4 days per week

About the Role

Join the facility's Medical ICU and Neuro Critical Care unit as a float nurse. You'll provide direct care to high-acuity patients across the Medical ICU, Surgical ICU, and Intermediate Care units. This is a dynamic role ideal for experienced critical care nurses who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy working with diverse patient populations.

Clinical Scope

You'll manage critically ill patients with conditions including sepsis, acute kidney injury (AKI), end-stage renal disease (ESRD) requiring continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT/CVVH), post-cardiac arrest recovery, and respiratory failure. Your responsibilities include:

• Comprehensive patient assessment and continuous hemodynamic monitoring
• Management of mechanical ventilation, arterial lines, central lines, and vasoactive/sedation drips
• Rapid response and code interventions
• Collaboration with intensivists and interdisciplinary teams on care planning
• Patient and family education

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care experience; prefer 2+ years in medical ICU setting
• BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• NIHSS certification required
• Proficiency with critical care equipment and protocols
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• CCRN preferred

Candidates must be located outside a 90-mile radius from the facility.
