Mother Baby / Postpartum RN

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (nights)
Contract: 13 weeks

About the Role
Join the family care unit as a Postpartum RN providing couplet care to mothers and newborns following vaginal or cesarean delivery. You'll manage 3–4 mother-baby couplets per shift, working alongside a dedicated team in a recently remodeled, modern unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess maternal recovery: fundal checks, lochia, incision and perineal care
- Perform newborn assessments, vital signs, feeding support, and screening tests
- Monitor for postpartum and newborn complications and escalate as needed
- Support breastfeeding and provide education on infant care and bonding
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
- Perform procedures including circumcisions, staple removal, and newborn testing
- Collaborate with OB physicians, pediatricians, lactation consultants, and the interdisciplinary team
- Document accurately in the electronic health record
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of current postpartum or mother-baby RN experience
- Experience with couplet care and postpartum recovery
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- RNC-MNN certification preferred
