NICU Nurse – 7 PM to 7 AM | 13-Week Contract

About the Role

Join the facility's newly opened NICU as a compassionate, skilled RN. You'll provide direct care to critically ill and premature infants, managing complex conditions requiring advanced monitoring and intervention. This is a high-acuity environment where independence, strong assessment skills, and quick thinking make a real difference.

Clinical Scope

The unit manages neonates requiring intensive support, including ventilator-dependent infants, those on CPAP, and post-resuscitation cases. You'll perform or assist with intubation, umbilical line placement, surfactant administration, needle decompression, chest tube insertion, and NG/OG feedings. Strong breastfeeding support and family education are central to the role.

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS and NRP certification required
• 1+ years NICU experience
• Competency in IV insertion in preterm and term infants
• Ability to recognize and respond to signs of clinical decline
• Experience with ventilators, CPAP, UVC placement, TPN, and lipid administration

RNC-NIC certification preferred.

Schedule & Expectations

• Three 12-hour shifts per week (guaranteed 36 hours)
• Night shift: 7 PM to 7 AM
• Four weekend shifts per 4-week cycle
• Birth response/stork nurse responsibilities
• Hospital-provided scrubs
