Labor & Delivery RN — Night Shift

Location: Dallas, TX

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)

Contract: 13 weeks

Schedule: 3 nights per week; rotating weekends; floating to antepartum as needed

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside care to laboring patients; monitor maternal and fetal status continuously
• Assess and interpret fetal heart rate patterns and uterine contractions; escalate concerns promptly
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and provide circulating support during cesarean sections
• Manage high-risk OB conditions (preeclampsia, hemorrhage, fetal distress) with emergency interventions
• Administer labor medications per physician orders; support epidural management
• Provide immediate newborn resuscitation and care
• Educate patients and families on labor progress and pain management options
• Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and NICU staff
• Document care accurately in the medical record

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification required (or willingness to obtain)
• Minimum 2 years high-risk L&D experience
• Demonstrated competency in fetal monitoring, vaginal and C-section deliveries, and high-acuity OB recovery

Clean professional appearance; no artificial nails or extreme hair/tattoo visibility. Neat, conservative grooming expected.
