REGISTERED NURSE – MED/SURG TELE

Location: Cleveland, OH

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Three 12-hour rotating shifts (Days 7am–7pm and Nights 7pm–7am)

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Tele unit to provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You will manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift, with continuous responsibility for cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips as ordered
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care coordination and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Ohio (or compact license as applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg or Telemetry experience
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification required
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• Professional certification recognized by the Magnet Association
