About the Unit
This is a high-volume, fast-paced Emergency Department serving a broad mix of acuity levels — approximately 20% ESI-2 patients, a 30% admit rate, and 28% EMS volume. The ED manages trauma, chest pain, stroke, procedural sedation, and behavioral health cases, including patients requiring close safety monitoring.
The night shift benefits from a stable, experienced team with consistent charge nurse leadership. Leadership is highly engaged — regularly present on the floor for direct patient care, hands-on education, and patient rounding. The department also has a strong commitment to alternative pain management therapies, significantly reducing opioid use through evidence-based protocols.
