Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift

Location: Euclid, OH

Shift: Night, 3 × 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility's medical-surgical telemetry unit cares for adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care, continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond to rhythm changes
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on plan of care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient response accurately in the electronic health record
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are followed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Ohio or compact state license in hand at time of submission)
• 12+ months permanent medical-surgical telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS certification (active, in hand)
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• Recent charting system experience (within 6 months)
• One recent professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in your specialty

• Must work at least every other holiday
• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment completed during orientation; acceptable score required
