Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a compassionate and skilled RN to join the Medical-Surgical unit on a 13-week contract. You'll work 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) providing comprehensive care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses.
Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
- Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
- Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (cardiac, respiratory, diabetes, and others)
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on care planning and discharge
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR
- Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
- Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
Requirements
- Current RN license in South Carolina (or compact license)
- Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification with Advanced Physical Skills Training required
- NIHSS certification required
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
- CMSRN certification preferred
Contract Details
- Location: Aiken, SC
- Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: June 29, 2026
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
