Medical-Surgical Travel Nurse | Greensburg, PA | 13-Week Contract

This Medical-Surgical unit cares for a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The unit focuses on non-monitored medical patients with a strong surgical component, including post-operative joint replacement, post-operative bariatric and general surgery cases, as well as patients with renal failure, bowel obstruction, mood disorders, and substance withdrawal.

Shift & Schedule

• Rotating 3×12-hour shifts; nights (19:00–07:30) preferred — straight nights may be considered; straight days will not be accepted
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Start date: November 2, 2026
• 4 weekend shifts per contract required
• Every-other-holiday availability required
• Float to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius may be required

Required Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg experience
• AHA BLS (current at time of submission)
• Electronic charting proficiency required; community hospital experience preferred

Clinical Skills

Candidates should be proficient in:

• Central line blood draw, PICC line management, port access
• Tracheostomy care, chest tube management, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP
• Peritoneal dialysis, pre/post hemodialysis management
• PCA, heparin, insulin administration
• Wound care/wound vac, surgical drain management
• Dysrhythmia management, blood product administration
• Colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation

Support Services on Unit

IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and unit secretaries are available.

Additional Notes

• Non-local candidates only (50-mile local radius exclusion applies)
• Two supervisor references preferred
• Pre-start modules and fingerprinting required prior to first shift
