Position Overview
The facility's Labor & Delivery unit is seeking an experienced RN to provide comprehensive care to laboring patients and their families. You'll work in a dynamic environment managing low-risk and high-risk obstetric cases, from admission through delivery and immediate postpartum care.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor using continuous fetal monitoring and assessment
- Recognize and respond to high-risk OB conditions including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, and fetal distress
- Administer labor medications (induction/augmentation agents, epidural support) per protocol
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and provide circulating support for cesarean sections
- Deliver immediate newborn care and resuscitation when needed
- Educate patients and families on labor progress and pain management options
- Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and NICU teams
- Document care accurately in the facility's electronic health record
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Colorado (or compact license)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Minimum 1+ years L&D nursing experience
- Experience with fetal monitoring, vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and high-risk obstetrics
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
