Medical-Surgical Oncology Nurse

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Med-Surg Oncology nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in Des Moines, Iowa. This is an excellent opportunity to provide compassionate care to oncology patients in an acute care setting.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour days)
• Every other holiday / Every other weekend
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

Clinical Scope

You'll deliver direct patient care on a medical-surgical oncology unit, supporting patients undergoing cancer treatment and managing treatment-related complications. Responsibilities include medication administration, chemotherapy support, wound care, pain management, and patient education.

Requirements

• Active RN license (state verification required)
• Current CPR certification
• Specialty-specific competency verification required at onboarding
• Immunizations required: COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Influenza
• TB screening (PPD or IGRA)
• Background check, drug screening, and health clearance
