Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract

Hopewell, VA | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13 Weeks | Start: July 7, 2026

This active Emergency Department is seeking an experienced travel RN for a night-shift contract. The unit manages a broad range of adult and pediatric patients across varying acuity levels, with a strong emphasis on rapid assessment, intervention, and team-based care.

Procedures & Clinical Scope

• Cardioversion, cardiac arrests, and pacemaker interrogation
• Central line placements
• Code Stroke and Code Sepsis protocols
• IV insertions, EKGs, suture/abscess setup, and other core ER skills

Required Skills

• Strong IV skills — both adult and pediatric (required)
• Excellent communication and adaptability
• Trauma experience and TNCC preferred

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI

Schedule & Expectations

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend required, plus at least one Friday and one Monday per four-week schedule
• No on-call required
• Potential float to a freestanding ED location approximately 15 minutes away

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Dress code: Teal top with black or teal bottoms
