Labor & Delivery Nurse
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse for a 13-week contract assignment. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to obstetric patients, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care in a high-volume setting.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours guaranteed weekly
- On-call schedule to be determined by the facility
- Weekend availability required
- No scheduling restrictions; must be flexible with facility needs
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care in accordance with professional nursing standards
- Provide specialized care appropriate to patient acuity and developmental needs
- Maintain accountability for quality of nursing services
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
Required Qualifications
- RN license (Maryland)
- 2+ years of recent high-volume Labor & Delivery experience
- Active ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association)
- Active Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
- Active NIHSS certification
- COVID vaccination (required; no declinations)
- Previous travel nursing experience
Additional Requirements
- Must be willing to obtain EFM and NIHSS certifications within 48 hours if not currently held
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
- Two supervisory references (one from last 6 months, one from last 12 months)
- Resume with explanations for any gaps over 30 days
- Verification of license less than 30 days old
