Surgical Nurse – OR Circulator & Scrub
Position Overview
Join the surgical team as a Circulator and Scrub Nurse at this facility's operating rooms and procedure suite. You'll provide specialized perioperative care across general surgery, urology, ophthalmology, podiatry, pain management, and endoscopy procedures. The majority of cases are outpatient; you'll care for adult and geriatric patients ages 16 and older.
Schedule & Contract
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 4 days per week (32 hours guaranteed)
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 9, 2026
- On-Call: Weekday call 2–3 days/week (1-hour callback); weekend call 1 per month (1-hour callback)
- Holiday Commitment: You must work two designated holiday blocks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if scheduled.
Requirements
- Cataract experience is non-negotiable
- 2–5 years of surgical nursing experience
- Demonstrated competency in both circulating and scrubbing (skills checklist required)
- Phase I/PACU experience
- Exposure to multiple surgical specialties
- Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA)
- Vermont nursing license
- BSN preferred
- Travel experience highly preferred
Important Notes
- Transportation: Personal vehicle required; public transit is not available in this community.
- Eligibility: Local travelers (within 50 miles) are not eligible.
- Time Off: Requests must be submitted at upload; maximum 5 days of PTO accepted. Requests submitted after offer may result in contract rescission.
- Attendance: Three call-offs may result in contract termination. Call-offs require 1.5-hour advance notice to the unit supervisor.
- Attire: Hospital-provided scrubs.
Certifications & Licenses: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), Vermont RN License
