Cardiac Progressive Care Unit — Travel RN

Asheville, NC | Night Shift (18:45–07:15) | 13-Week Contract

This cardiac progressive care/stepdown unit manages a complex cardiovascular patient population, including those presenting with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, and endocarditis, as well as post-procedural patients following cardiac catheterization, stent placement, pacemaker/ICD implantation, and ablation. DKA patients are also included in the case mix.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 18:45–07:15
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend required

Required Skills

• Stepdown or progressive care experience
• Telemetry experience
• Proficiency with titratable cardiac IV medications (nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, Bumex/Lasix)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin)
• Relief charge nurse experience

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Bedside cardioversion

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS

Float Requirements

Nurses may float to med-surg, stepdown, and ER holding areas.

Dress Code

All white, all navy blue, or white top with navy blue pants.
