Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Nurse for a 13-week assignment in Houston, TX. This is a day shift role (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) offering 36 guaranteed hours per week.

About the Unit

The cardiac catheterization lab operates 3 procedure rooms with a dedicated team of RNs and cath lab technicians. You'll work as part of a three-person team per procedure, delivering care in a fast-paced interventional environment. The unit performs a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including left and right heart catheterizations, pacemaker and ICD insertions, Watchman procedures, interventional radiology cases, and electrophysiology ablations.

Clinical Scope

• Left and right heart catheterizations
• Pacemaker/ICD placement
• Watchman and IR procedures
• Vascular EP ablations (pulmonary vein ablation)
• Moderate sedation management per unit protocol

Requirements

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Cardiac cath lab experience preferred
• Electrophysiology experience a plus
• Strong team player mentality and flexibility

Schedule & Floating

• 4-day work week, rotating schedule
• One full weekend plus two weekdays per four-week cycle
• Float support to pre- and post-cath departments as needed

Additional Details

• Hospital-provided sky blue scrubs
• Familiarity with universal precautions, timeout procedures, and moderate sedation guidelines expected
