Physical Therapist Assistant – Inpatient Acute Care
Position Overview
Join a collaborative physical therapy team providing acute care and inpatient rehabilitation services. This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work across multiple clinical settings in a supportive environment.
Schedule & Duration
- Shift: 4x10-hour days or 5x8-hour days; hours negotiable between 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
- Contract: 70 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Start Date: November 9, 2026
- Weekend Coverage: Possible, planned in advance (Phase 1); no weekends expected during Phase 2
Clinical Scope
You'll work primarily in an inpatient rehabilitation unit (90% of time), with occasional assignments to mid-level critical care floors, medical-surgical floors, and orthopedic units (10%). Expected caseload: 4 patients per 8-hour shift with documentation completed within your shift; 22 units per day required.
Location & Team Structure
- Phase 1 (11/16–12/13/26): Lufkin location; 6-person PT team on weekdays
- Phase 2 (12/14/26–1/9/27): Livingston location; typically sole PT on shift
Requirements
- Current PTA license (state required)
- BLS Certification
- Experience preferred—this role is for clinicians confident working independently and efficiently
- Strong documentation and time-management skills
Cancellation Policy
4 shifts per 13-week assignment; 3 shifts for shorter assignments.
