Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its multi-specialty Intensive Care Unit. You'll deliver direct care to critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and advanced life support interventions in a collaborative, clinically dynamic environment.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (PM shifts available)
- Every-other weekend and every-other holiday rotation
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week
- Float to medical/surgical units may be required as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience in a multi-specialty setting (CCU, SICU, MICU, Neuro, Cardiac Telemetry)
- BLS and ACLS certification
- NIHSS certification required; CCRN preferred
- Telemetry certification with demonstrated ability to independently read and interpret rhythm strips
- ADN or BSN (BSN preferred)
- Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive bedside nursing care to high-acuity patients
- Manage advanced life support equipment (ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, hemodynamic monitoring)
- Administer titratable vasoactive and sedation drips per physician orders
- Assess, monitor, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with intensivists and interdisciplinary teams on care planning
- Perform code and rapid response interventions as needed
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
