Case Management RN — Acute Care | Los Angeles, CA

Day Shift | 13-Week Contract

This case management role is based in Los Angeles, CA, supporting a busy acute care unit serving adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The position focuses on utilization management, discharge planning, and coordinated care across an interdisciplinary team that includes social services and transportation support.

Shift & Schedule

• Days, 5x8-hour shifts (08:00–17:00)
• No weekends, no on-call, no floating required
• No scheduling requests can be accommodated; flexibility is expected

Clinical Scope

• Utilization management using InterQual and Milliman criteria
• Discharge planning and plan of care development
• Working knowledge of CMS guidelines, DRG, ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and NCQA standards
• Collaboration with social services and interdisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate level of care and smooth transitions

Requirements

• Active California RN license (permanent; no pending or temporary licenses accepted)
• Minimum 3 years of acute care case management experience; utilization management experience required
• BLS certification
• Flu vaccination required — no exemptions
• Familiarity with electronic health records preferred
• 2 supervisor-level references from within the past year required at time of submission

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start: October 2026
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Max PTO: 2 weeks total; no PTO during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
