Night Shift Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Cardiac Specialty
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced cardiac nurse for its progressive care unit on the night shift. This is a high-acuity, cardiac-focused environment where strong rhythm interpretation skills and procedural knowledge are essential.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 3 × 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- 13-week contract
- Start dates: Every Monday
Requirements
Licensure & Certification:
- Current Georgia or compact state license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Experience:
- Minimum 18 months of recent cardiac unit experience within the past 3 years
- Strong competency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry management
- Must independently interpret rhythms and pass a proctored dysrhythmia exam on the first attempt (paper-based, using calipers)
- Experience with cardiac drips: insulin, milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, heparin, Lasix, and nitroglycerin
- Chest tube management experience required
- Heart transplant and LVAD experience preferred (training available)

- 50-mile radius; local travelers not considered
- May float to similar cardiac/PCU units as needed
