Operating Room RN — Travel Contract | Des Moines, IA

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3×12s (6:30 AM–7:00 PM) | Every 4th weekend on call (Friday end-of-shift through Monday 6:30 AM)

Contract: 13 weeks | 36 hrs/week guaranteed

About the Role

This high-volume OR handles 35–50 cases per day across a broad range of service lines, with an expected turnover time under 20 minutes. The unit runs 12–14 suites routinely and supports a full surgical program including cardiac/peripheral vascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic trauma, robotic surgery, gynecology, urology, general surgery, pediatrics, transplants, and a smaller volume of ENT and plastics.

Candidates who can both scrub and circulate are strongly preferred. Travelers will be expected to float across multiple campuses within the health system.

Requirements

• Minimum 24 months of current OR experience (hospital/medical center setting prioritized)
• Circulating experience required; scrub experience highly preferred
• Required case experience: General, Da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, Trauma
• Preferred case experience: Neurology, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, ENT, Vascular
• Trauma Level II experience required; Level I experience highly preferred
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment within the last 15 months (no first-time travelers)
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required at time of submission
• BLS (AHA) required
