Registered Nurse – Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit
Shift & Schedule
7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 guaranteed hours per week | 13-week contract
About the Role
You'll deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in a cardiac surgical intensive care setting. Responsibilities include:
- Implementing and monitoring individualized patient care plans
- Administering physician and nursing orders with full regulatory compliance
- Managing hemodynamic monitoring and advanced cardiac support devices
- Leading discharge planning and interdisciplinary coordination
- Optimizing patient safety and recovery outcomes
Clinical Scope
The unit specializes in high-risk cardiac surgery patients and advanced heart failure populations, including:
- Open heart recovery and post-surgical cardiac patients
- Heart transplant and LVAD implant management
- ECMO, Impella, and IABP support
- CRRT and Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring
- Complex hemodynamic management
Unit Details
- Scrub color: Navy
- Float assignments as needed to MICU, SICU, Medical, or Cardiac Stepdown Units
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license (Nursys verification required)
- Cardiac advanced device therapy management experience (IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz minimum)
- Active state licensure
Onboarding
You'll complete specialty cardiac exams, core competencies, EKG certification, and standard health screenings and background checks prior to start.
