Operating Room Scrub Technician
Position Overview
The facility's operating room is seeking an experienced scrub technician for an evening shift role. You'll support surgical teams across multiple specialties in a busy OR environment.
Shift & Schedule
- 10-hour evening shifts, 4 days per week
- 13-week contract with 72 hours biweekly guaranteed
- First week includes 5 days of orientation (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
- Call requirements: Up to 4 calls per month, including weekends and holidays
- Short call: 2 hours after shift, once weekly
- Weekend/holiday coverage: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, once monthly
- Overnight weeknight call: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Clinical Scope
The OR handles a diverse surgical slate: orthopedics (joint replacements, sports medicine), general surgery, gynecology, urology, robotics, oncology, ophthalmology, ENT, plastic surgery, and interventional pulmonology.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of OR scrub experience, with strong orthopedic and total joint background
- Active MA license at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- Scrub experience mandatory
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
Important Notes
- No local candidates (must live beyond 50 miles)
- Candidates who worked at the facility as permanent or per diem staff within the past year are ineligible
