Emergency Department Nurse – 13-Week Contract

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Location: Salem, VA

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

About the Role

The facility's Emergency Department is a fast-paced, high-volume unit seeking experienced RNs for the night shift. You'll manage a patient population with acuities ranging from urgent to critical, working with a team-oriented staff in a collaborative environment.

Clinical Scope

Your responsibilities will include:

• RSI and airway management
• Sepsis interventions and stroke protocols with tPA administration
• Central line placement
• Psychiatric patient care
• Interfacility transfers (EMTALA)

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in emergency nursing
• Travel History: Minimum 2–3 completed travel assignments
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (required); ENPC, NRP, NIH preferred
• Personality: Relaxed, easygoing, team-oriented, and respectful

What to Expect

• No on-call requirements
• Four weekend shifts per four-week scheduling cycle (Friday or Saturday nights)
• Navy blue or white scrubs
• No floating to other units
• Night shift staffing: 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, 2–3 medics
