Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract

Salem, VA | Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 13-Week Contract

This high-volume emergency department is seeking an experienced travel RN with a solid ER background and a team-first attitude. The unit manages a broad acuity range, from behavioral health presentations to critical medical emergencies requiring rapid intervention.

Clinical Scope

Nurses on this unit regularly perform or assist with RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, central line placement, psychiatric patient care, and inter-facility transfers per EMTALA guidelines.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of ER experience (required)
• At least 2–3 completed travel assignments (required)
• Background in high-acuity, fast-paced emergency settings preferred

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC

Preferred Certifications

• ENPC, NRP, NIH Stroke Scale

Schedule & Logistics

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Four weekend shifts per four-week scheduling period (Friday or Saturday nights)
• No on-call requirement
• No floating required
• Scrubs: Navy blue or white
