Cardiovascular ICU – Travel RN | Overland Park, KS

Nights | 13-Week Contract

This high-acuity Cardiovascular ICU opportunity is ideal for experienced critical care nurses with a strong cardiac background. The unit operates at a demanding clinical level, recognized as a Unit of Distinction with high standards for quality and patient experience.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (4 x 12-hour nights)
• 3 shifts per week; 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• 48 hours guaranteed per week

Clinical Scope

The CVICU manages complex cardiovascular patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and intervention. Procedures and skills utilized on the unit include:

• Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) and Impella management
• ECMO cannulation support
• Open heart procedure recovery
• Cath/EP Lab recovery
• Pericardial drain management
• Chest tube management
• Pacemaker management
• Vasopressors and positive inotropes
• Continuous telemetry monitoring and frequent vital sign assessments

Float Requirements

Travelers may float to the Medical ICU and floor units as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• ACLS and BLS required
• Minimum ICU experience required; CVICU experience strongly preferred
• Charge nurse experience a plus for night shift candidates
