Emergency Room RN — Asheville, NC

This fast-paced Emergency Department is a high-volume, high-acuity environment serving a richly diverse community with patients speaking over 120 languages. The department is well-staffed with techs in cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and , as well as unit clerks on both days and nights.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 18:45–07:15
• 36 hours/week guaranteed
• Every other weekend required
• No block scheduling; scheduling flexes to meet departmental needs
• No floating outside the ED, but flexibility to work all sections within the department is required

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 7, 2026

Required Certifications (all must be current on hire unless noted)

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC within 90 days of hire

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Experience in high-volume emergency departments with comprehensive stroke and trauma services strongly preferred
• Strong teamwork mentality; ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work all areas within the ED

Clinical Environment

• High-acuity patient population including behavioral health holds
• Patient experience standards include AIDET communication, ongoing patient updates, and board maintenance throughout each visit
