Cardiac Telemetry RN

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Cardiac Telemetry RN for a 13-week contract on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), working three 12-hour shifts per week. This role is ideal for nurses with strong cardiac acuity skills and a commitment to reliable staffing.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of cardiac floor experience (required)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS preferred
• Current RN license (NC or Compact)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• First-time travelers welcome with 2+ years cardiac experience

Clinical Scope

You'll provide care to adult and geriatric patients across the cardiac continuum, including:

• Post-operative cardiac and thoracic surgery (CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO)
• Post-interventional procedures (cardiac catheterization, DCCV, electrophysiology, pacemaker placement)
• Vascular surgery recovery (carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, amputations)
• Acute cardiac diagnoses (AFib, CHF, ACS, CAD, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy)

Unit Details

• Float required as needed within the facility
• Weekend coverage: 4 shifts per 4-week period (flexible)
• Call: Not required
• Scrubs: Navy pants, white top
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Up to 7 days RTO pre-approved (excluding holidays; must work 2 of 3 major holidays)

Skills & Experience

Cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, sheath removal, arterial line management, chest tube care, cardiac drip management (titration preferred), non-invasive airway management, post-MI/post-cath care, and wound care.

Additional Notes

Contract staff may be assigned to Storm or Hurricane Teams and may be required to report during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations. Consolidation to a centralized office mid-contract is possible.
