Operating Room Nurse – Day Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced OR nurse for a 13-week contract in a busy surgical center. You'll work day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential for occasional late days. Guaranteed hours available throughout the contract.
About the Unit
The OR operates 4 surgical suites performing a wide range of procedures including general surgery, GU, ENT, GYN, endoscopic, and colorectal cases. You'll care for both adult and pediatric patients in a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The facility includes 4 acute beds and 12 advanced beds for patient recovery and monitoring.
Requirements
- Active and clear New York RN license
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of operating room experience
- Experience with standard OR EMR systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Travel nursing background
What You'll Do
Provide perioperative nursing care across multiple surgical specialties. You'll assist with patient preparation, maintain the sterile field, manage instruments and equipment, and support anesthesia and surgical teams throughout procedures.
This is a straightforward, hands-on OR role in a facility-based surgery center with consistent scheduling and no weekends.
