Progressive Cardiac Care Unit – Night Shift
Position Overview
Join a high-acuity progressive cardiac care unit (PCU) managing complex cardiac patients. This role requires strong cardiac nursing expertise and independent clinical judgment in a fast-paced environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (NOC)
- Hours: 3 × 12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week
- Contract: 13 weeks
- Start Dates: Every Monday
- Scrubs: Navy Blue
- Travel Radius: 50 miles; local candidates only
Clinical Scope
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 18 months recent cardiac unit experience
- Independent cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia identification
- Expertise with vasoactive drips: insulin, milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, heparin, lasix, nitroglycerin
- Chest tube management
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Experience with right/left heart catheterizations, sheath/TR band management, stent placement, pacemakers, ICDs, and cardioversions
Critical Requirement
You must pass a proctored, paper-based rhythm identification exam on your first attempt (no remediation). Calipers required; no tech assistance permitted.
Certifications
- Current RN license (Georgia or compact state)
- BLS required
Float Expectations
May float to similar cardiac/PCU units as needed.
