Progressive Cardiac Care Unit – Night Shift

The Opportunity

Join a high-acuity cardiac progressive care unit (PCU) as a night shift nurse. You'll work 3 × 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week), 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, on a 13-week assignment with start dates available every Monday.

What You'll Do

Care for cardiac patients across a range of acuities and presentations, including:

• Post-operative cardiac surgery patients (CABG)
• Heart failure, arrhythmias (A-fib, SVT, V-tach, V-fib), and chest pain
• LVAD and heart transplant patients
• Patients undergoing or post-procedure (catheterizations, stent placement, valve replacement, ablations, cardioversions, pacemaker/ICD placement)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months recent cardiac unit experience
• Strong telemetry interpretation skills
• Dysrhythmia exam required: paper-based, proctored, using calipers. Must pass on first attempt (no remediation).
• ACLS certification
• Chest tube experience
• Proficiency with cardiac drips and procedures listed above
• Current nursing license (Georgia or compact state)
• Chest tube and cardiac skills rated "4" on competency checklist

Preferred Qualifications

• LVAD or heart transplant experience (training provided if needed)

• 50-mile radius (no local travelers)
• May float to similar cardiac/PCU units as needed
