Emergency Department RN — Asheville, NC

Nights | 13-Week Contract | 36 Hours/Week

This high-volume Emergency Department in Asheville, NC is seeking an experienced ER nurse for a 13-week travel contract. The unit manages a broad and complex patient population, including medical emergencies, behavioral health holds, and stroke cases, in a fast-paced environment that draws patients from across the region.

Shift Details

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No block scheduling; scheduling must meet department needs
• No floating outside the ED, but must be flexible to work all sections within the department

Clinical Scope

• High-acuity, high-volume emergency care
• Diverse patient population, including behavioral health, stroke, trauma, and medical emergencies
• Strong emphasis on patient experience (AIDET, board updates, ongoing patient communication)

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Experience in a high-volume ED strongly preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively, coach peers, and adapt across all ED areas

Required Certifications (prior to start date)

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC within 90 days of hire
