Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: October 5, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking an RN to join the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit, where you'll deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. This role combines hands-on patient care with clinical decision-making in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and nursing rounds
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and pain control
• Coordinate care with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Typically manage 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• 1+ year of Medical-Surgical or Telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated telemetry/EKG interpretation competency

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• Previous telemetry or cardiac nursing experience
