Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical Telemetry

Location: Lexington, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (includes weekends and holidays)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: November 2, 2026

About the Role

The facility's medical-surgical telemetry unit provides care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You'll deliver evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care in a fast-paced environment where clinical judgment and attentiveness directly impact patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans using the nursing process
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, treatments, and cardiac drips per physician orders
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and pain control
• Coordinate discharge planning and patient/family education
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention standards
• Typically care for 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry and EKG interpretation
• ADN or BSN (BSN preferred)
