Emergency Room RN — Night Shift | Asheville, NC

13-Week Contract | 36 Hours/Week

This fast-paced Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift contract (18:45–07:15) starting July 23, 2026. The unit serves a highly diverse, multicultural community and is known for strong team cohesion and a welcoming culture.

Unit Overview

The ED manages a high-acuity, high-volume patient population across a broad scope of emergency presentations, including behavioral health holds, cardiac monitoring, and complex medical cases. Techs support cardiac monitoring and internal processing areas; unit clerks are available on both day and night shifts.

Schedule & Float

• Every other weekend required
• No floating outside the ED; flexibility to rotate within all sections of the ED
• Scheduling must meet departmental needs; block scheduling not available

Required Certifications (prior to start)

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC (within 90 days of hire)

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
• Experience in a high-volume ED environment strongly preferred
• Strong teamwork mentality; ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
• Flexibility to work across all areas of the ED

Patient Experience Expectations

Staff are expected to follow AIDET communication standards, maintain respectful patient interactions, and keep patient information boards updated throughout each visit.
