Labor & Delivery RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for night shift work in a critical access hospital setting. You'll provide direct patient care across Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum, and the Baby Unit, with flexibility to float to other departments and support overflow from the Progressive Care Unit as needed.
Clinical Details
- Specialty: Mother Baby / Post-Partum nursing
- Shift: Night (36 guaranteed hours per week)
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Float requirements: Yes; may support other units including Progressive Care overflow
- Required certifications: Current RN license; L&D experience preferred
Location & Lifestyle
The facility is located in Newport, Vermont, in the Northeast Kingdom region near the Canadian border. The area offers outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling. Personal transportation is strongly recommended, as public transit options are limited.

- Attendance at department quarterly education sessions is required for all contract staff.
- You'll work within a collaborative nursing team in a smaller, community-focused setting.
