Progressive Care Unit — Travel RN

Independence, Missouri | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This PCU position offers a night shift schedule (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with 48 guaranteed hours per week on a 4x12 rotation. The target start date is December 14.

Unit Overview

The Progressive Care Unit manages intermediate-acuity patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing intervention. The unit operates with primarily RN-based care, supported by unit secretaries available during day hours. Float coverage to the Telemetry Unit may be required on a rotation basis.

Clinical Scope

• Management of vasoactive drips
• Central line and PICC line placement
• Chest tube placements
• Non-invasive respiratory support including BiPAP and heated high-flow nasal cannula therapy
• Enteral nutrition management

Scheduling & Expectations

• Every 3rd weekend rotation
• Rotating holiday schedule
• Floating to Telemetry Unit per rotation schedule
• Bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds required

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS

Candidate Profile

Strong candidates will demonstrate advanced assessment skills, critical thinking, and comfort managing complex patients. A collaborative, team-oriented attitude is essential.

Charcoal grey scrub tops with charcoal grey or black bottoms; black or charcoal grey jackets.
