Med-Surg/Oncology RN — Travel Contract | Independence, Missouri

This 13-week night shift contract (7p–7a, 4x12s) places you on a sixth-floor Med-Surg/Oncology unit caring for a diverse patient population including medical-surgical, oncology, hospice, and hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac monitoring without interventions.

Contract Details

• Shift: 19:00–07:00 (4x12 nights)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: December 14
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 per week
• Location: Independence, Missouri

Unit & Clinical Scope

The unit operates with a collaborative care team including RNs, LPNs, PCTs, Clinical Care Coordinators, and unit secretaries. You'll perform a range of hands-on procedures:

• Wound vac changes
• Drain and NG tube insertion/removal
• IV/PICC line management
• Foley catheter insertion/removal
• Chest tube and surgical drain management
• PCA monitoring and glucometer checks

Scheduling & Float

• Every other weekend required; no on-call
• Float coverage to Med-Surg and Telemetry (Med-Surg acuity patients only)

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS certification required
• Previous Med-Surg or Oncology experience preferred
• Strong candidates are team-oriented, patient-centered, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
