ICU Neonatal Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced ICU Neonatal Nurse to provide direct patient care in the neonatal intensive care unit on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). This is a full-time contract position for 13 weeks.

Clinical Scope

You will deliver routine and complex nursing care to critically ill newborns and their families. Your responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments and implementing individualized care plans using the nursing process
• Administering medications and treatments; monitoring for effectiveness and adverse effects
• Providing education to patients and families about care, procedures, and developmental needs
• Documenting patient history, clinical findings, and interventions
• Addressing the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of families
• May float to mother/baby unit as needed

Required Qualifications

• RN License (Texas or compact state)
• Current STABLE (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Current NRP certification
• 1+ year of experience in neonatal or perinatal nursing preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Orientation & Support

All new hires complete a structured orientation within the first 30 days and are precepted by a designated experienced staff member. You'll complete competency validation requirements and ongoing annual verification.
