Surgical Specialty Unit – RN (Med/Surg)

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Medical/Surgical RN for its Surgical Specialty Unit. This is a 13-week contract with a guaranteed 48 hours per week.

Shift & Schedule

• 07:00–19:00 (4 × 12-hour days)
• Every 3rd weekend
• Two Mondays and Fridays per 4-week cycle
• Float availability to similar med/surg, telemetry, ortho, neuro, and other designated units

Unit Details

You'll work in a fast-paced surgical specialty unit focused on post-operative and specialty surgical patients. The unit manages a range of procedures including ostomy care, central line management, JP drain care, wound management, NGT placement, Foley catheter management, blood administration, and nutritional support (TPN, G/J tubes).

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS certification
• Medical/surgical nursing experience required
• Strong understanding of post-operative care
• Royal Blue scrub tops; Black or Royal Blue bottoms

What You'll Use

Standard monitoring and medication management equipment, including IV pumps, PCA pumps, telemetry, EKG, bladder scanners, wound vacs, and capnostream machines. Documentation via standard hospital system.
