Medical-Surgical RN — Kansas City, Missouri

Nights | 13-Week Contract

This Med-Surg unit in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a night shift contract with a target start date of mid-December.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 4 × 12-hour shifts
• 48 hours guaranteed per week
• 3 weekend shifts required within each 4-week scheduling period
• Float per facility policy

Unit Overview

The unit is a general medical-surgical floor managing a diverse patient population that includes post-operative and complex medical cases. Nursing support includes a unit secretary and PCTs on every shift.

Procedures & Clinical Scope

• IV insertion and management
• Foley and external urinary catheters
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Post-op care
• Tracheostomy care
• Nasogastric tubes and feeding tubes

Patient Experience Standards

The facility emphasizes patient-centered care through AIDET communication principles, bedside shift report, and hourly rounding.

Requirements

• Active Missouri RN license
• BLS certification
• Med-Surg experience required

Dress Code

Navy blue scrub top; navy or black scrub pants. Undershirts and scrub jackets must be navy, white, or black. No sweatshirts or track jackets.
