PCU / Stepdown

Stroke & Brain Unit — PCU | Night Shift | Kansas City, MO

This 13-week contract places you in a dedicated Stroke & Brain unit managing neurological and cardiac patients requiring close monitoring and specialized nursing care. The unit is supported by tech staff and offers a high level of team engagement.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 19:00–07:00 (4 x 12-hour shifts)
• 3 shifts per week; 3–4 weekend shifts per contract period
• 48 guaranteed hours per week

Clinical Scope

• Stroke and neurology patient population
• Telemetry monitoring
• Administration of cardiac drips
• Basic dysrhythmia recognition and management
• Tech support available on unit

Float Policy

Travelers may be floated to other areas where demonstrated clinical competency exists.

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS certification
• Prior stroke experience (required)
• Telemetry and cardiac drip experience (required)
