Transplant Nephrology | Med/Surg | Kansas City, MO
This 13-week contract places you on a dedicated Transplant Nephrology unit providing med/surg-level care to patients with complex renal conditions, including post-kidney transplant and chronic renal disease diagnoses. Dialysis is managed off the unit, so the clinical focus remains on transplant monitoring and medical/surgical nephrology care.
Shift & Schedule
- 4 x 12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:00)
- 48 hours guaranteed per week
- 3 weekend shifts required per month
- No on-call requirements
Unit Support
- Daytime unit secretary, PCTs, and a dedicated unit educator on staff
- Virtual nursing support handles patient admissions, allowing bedside nurses to focus on direct patient care
Float Policy
Agency/contract nurses float first.
Required Qualifications
- ADN minimum
- BLS certification
- Background in Med/Surg, nephrology, kidney transplant, renal, or dialysis nursing
Dress Code
Royal blue scrubs; black scrub pants permitted.
