Neuro ICU – Night Shift RN

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced ICU nurse for its Neuro and Surgical ICU, a specialized unit dedicated to the care of neurologically complex and post-neurosurgery patients within a comprehensive stroke center.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 18:45 – 07:15 (3 x 12-hour shifts)
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• Contract length: 13 weeks (through 2/27)
• Float requirement: Yes, to other ICUs and intermediate care units as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• EKG testing prior to start
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Clinical Scope

• ICP monitoring and EVD management
• Ventilator and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Vasoactive and sedation drip titration
• Lumbar drain care
• Hypothermia protocol and Arctic Sun management
• Arterial line and central line management
• Post-op neuro assessments

Practical Details

• 24-hour orientation
• Scheduling per unit needs (no block scheduling guaranteed)
• Scrubs not provided; navy blue or white required
• Pre-approved RTO up to 7 days; no RTO during first week or after booking
