Operating Room – Travel RN
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Operating Room nurse for a 16-week travel assignment. This is a sensitive unit requiring strong clinical expertise across multiple surgical specialties.
Shift & Schedule
- Day shift: 3x12-hour (06:30–19:00)
- Weekend coverage: Variable (to be discussed during interview)
- Call requirements: Variable (to be discussed during interview)
- Maximum 7 days of approved time off per contract
- No time off approved November 23–29 and December 21–January 3
Required Experience & Credentials
- Minimum 4 years of OR experience (travel experience required)
- Must have hands-on experience in Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics — this is a hard stop
- Current RN license (Georgia or Compact)
- BLS certification
- Clinical screening required to confirm fit
Clinical Scope
You'll support multiple surgical service lines including bariatrics, urology, neurology, ENT, plastics, transplant (solid organ), ophthalmology, general surgery, GYN, and orthopedics. Procedures include craniotomies, spinal fusions (ALIF, XLIF), organ donation, joint replacements, hysterectomies, and complex abdominal cases.
Floating & Support
- Float within facility scope and to outpatient areas as needed
- Interdisciplinary collaboration: IV teams, respiratory, pharmacy, physical therapy, social services
Onboarding
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays push back 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- All compliance documents due the Tuesday prior to start
- Locals accepted at the same rate
