NICU Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
Join the NICU team for a 12-hour night shift (7 PM–7 AM) providing specialized care to neonates across all gestational ages. This is a 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week.
Unit & Patient Population
The facility's Level 3b NICU manages high-acuity neonates, including premature infants, sepsis cases, therapeutic cooling patients, and neonates experiencing substance withdrawal.Requirements
- Current RN license
- BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
- Minimum 2–3 years of Level 3 NICU experience
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Ability to attend deliveries preferred
- Spanish-speaking skills preferred
Staffing & Support
- Charge nurse role available
- Respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7
- Neonatologist on call
- Orientation: 2–3 shifts floor-specific
- Navy scrubs
Schedule & Floating
- Every other weekend requirement
- Float to L&D or postpartum to care for babies as needed
- Hospital may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment
Equipment & Resources
Ventilators include Aveya, bubble CPAP, , and oscillator. No IV team or monitor technician on site.
