Oncology Infusion Nurse

About the Role
The facility's Cancer Center is seeking an experienced Oncology Infusion Nurse to administer chemotherapy, biologics, and supportive care medications to patients undergoing cancer treatment. You'll work in a dynamic infusion setting, managing patient care from pre-treatment assessment through post-infusion monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer IV chemotherapy, biotherapy, and supportive medications per physician orders
- Assess patients before, during, and after infusion; monitor for and respond to adverse reactions
- Establish and manage vascular access (peripheral IVs, PICC lines, implanted ports)
- Educate patients and families on infusion therapy, side effects, and home care management
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and the care team on treatment planning
- Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately
- Maintain infusion equipment and supplies; ensure compliance with infection control standards
- Monitor lab values and adjust care per protocol
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (New York State or compact license)
- BLS certification
- Oncology/Chemotherapy certification (OCN or ONS required)
- Cancer Center Preceptor experience required
- Minimum 2 years of medical/surgical and chemotherapy infusion nursing experience
- Strong IV insertion, phlebotomy, and vascular assessment skills
- ADN or BSN
