Oncology ICU — Travel RN | Dallas, TX
Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13-Week Contract
This Oncology ICU position places you in a specialized critical care environment managing high-acuity oncology patients requiring intensive monitoring and complex interventions. The unit operates without bedside techs, making strong autonomous nursing skills essential.
Clinical Scope
- Total care of critically ill oncology patients, including patients requiring mechanical ventilation, BiPAP, and arterial line monitoring
- Titration of vasoactive and critical care drips
- CRRT management, trach care, dressing changes, and positioning
- Transplant patient experience (kidney, pancreas, liver) is a strong plus
Schedule & Structure
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (report at 6:45 AM)
- 36 guaranteed hours per week; facility can approve up to 48 guaranteed hours
- Rotating weekends required
- Clock in/out for lunch
Float Requirements
- May float to other ICUs, PCU, or BMT unit
Requirements
- Strong ICU background with demonstrated experience titrating drips and caring for ventilated patients
- ACLS and BLS required
- CRRT experience preferred
- Compassionate, collaborative approach with strong physician communication skills
Dress Code
- Blue scrubs
