Pediatric Nurse – Mixed Unit
Location: Asheville, NC
Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
Contract Duration: 56 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
Start Date: September 30, 2026
About the Role
Join a pediatric and oncology nursing team caring for 19 patients across a dedicated mixed unit. You'll provide direct care to children with complex medical and oncologic diagnoses, working alongside a specialized team that includes at least one dedicated oncology nurse every shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with pediatric specialists and interdisciplinary team members
- Float to pediatric ICU (PICU) and neonatal ICU (NICU) as needed
- Support evidence-based pediatric and oncologic nursing practices
Requirements
- Current Licenses & Certifications: RN license, BLS, PALS, and APHON (for oncology patients)
- Experience: Minimum pediatric hospital nursing experience required; pediatric oncology experience preferred
- Competencies: Detail-oriented, organized, strong communication skills

Schedule
- Day shift: 4 RNs + charge RN + respiratory therapist + patient care technician
- Includes 6 weekend shifts (2 Saturdays) over contract duration
- No on-call requirement
