Pediatric ICU (PICU) Nurse – Asheville, NC
Position Overview
This is a night shift role (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) serving critically ill and injured children with high acuity needs.
Unit Details
Clinical Scope
Your responsibilities will include:
- IV starts, central line dressing changes, and catheterizations
- Hemodynamic monitoring and ICP monitoring
- Ventilator management and weaning
- Tracheostomy care, tube feeding, and feeding tube placement
- Assisting with lumbar punctures and other procedures
Staffing & Support
A unit secretary works 9 AM–9 PM. Techs are shared with the PICU. You may float to pediatrics or NICU as needed.
Requirements
- 1+ year PICU experience required
- Current PALS certification
- Comfortable with night shift and 3 weekends per 6-week schedule
Dress Code
All navy, all white, or navy pants with white tops.
